முன்னுரை:-

• மகாபாரதம் நமக்கு கிடைத்த மிகவும் அரிய பொக்கிஷங்களில் ஒன்றாகும் நான்கு வேதங்களுக்கு பின் ஐந்தாவது வேதமாக மகாபாரதம் கருதப்படுகிறது.

• மகாபாரதத்தில் ஒன்றே கால் லட்சம் ஸ்லோகங்கள் உள்ளன. மொத்தம் உள்ள பதினெட்டு பருவத்தில் ஐந்தாவது பர்வமான உத்யோக பருவத்தில் விதுர நீதி திருதராஷ்டிரனுக்கு கூறப்பட்டுள்ளது.

• சஞ்சயன் ஆண்டவரிடத்தில் தூது போய் வந்த பிறகு காலையில் திருதராஷ்ட்ரனைச் சந்தித்து விவரம் கூறுவதாக சென்றுவிடுகிறான்.

•  திருதராஷ்டிரன் தனது ராஜ்யத்தை பாண்டவர்களுக்கு பிரித்துக் கொடுக்க வேண்டி வரும் என்று எண்ணி மிகவும் துன்புறுகிறான் .

• எனவே தூக்கம் வராமல் வாயில் காப்போனை அழைத்து விதுரரை அழைத்து வர ஆணை இடுகிறான். தூக்கம் வராமல் தவிக்கும் திருதராஷ்டிரனுக்கு உபதேசிப்பதே விதுர நீதி ஆகும்.

• விதுர நீதியில் மிக நுட்பமான விஷயங்கள் பல சொல்லப் பட்டுள்ளன.  எவ்வளவு கஷ்டப் படும் மனிதனாக இருந்தாலும் நம்பிக்கையுடன் விதுர நீதி கேட்டால் கவலை நிச்சயமாக நீங்கும்.

யார் விதுரர்

• விதுர நீதியை ஆரம்பிக்கும் முன் விதுரர் என்பவர் யார் அவர் ஏன் பூமியில் அவதரித்தார் என்று காண்போம்.

• முந்தைய காலத்தில் ஆணி மாண்டவ்யர் என்ற ரிஷி ஒருவர் இருந்தார். அவர் சிறு பிராயத்தில் எறும்புகளைப் பிடித்து துன்புறுத்தி விளையாடி வந்தார். பிறகு யோகங்கள் பல செய்து ஆழ்ந்த தியான மார்க்கத்தில் ஈடுபட்டார்.

• ஒரு நாள் அவர் மீது சில குற்றங்கள் சுமத்தப் பட்டு ராஜாவிடம் அழைத்துச் செல்லப்பட்டார்.

• ராஜா அவரை விசாரித்தார். ஆனால் ரிஷி தியானத்தில் ஈடுபட்டிருந்ததால் எதுவும் சொல்லாமல் தியானத்திலேயே ஈடுபட்டிருந்தார்.

• ராஜா அவரை கழுவில் ஏற்றுமாறு தண்டனை இட்டார். அவருக்கு தண்டனையும் நிறைவேற்றப்பட்டது பாதி கழு உடம்பில் ஏறிய பிறகுதான் அவருக்கு பிரக்ஞை வந்தது. அக்கம்பக்கத்தில் விசாரிக்கவே அவர் செய்ததாக சொல்லப்பட்ட குற்றம் சொல்லப்பட்டது. 

• தான் அந்த குற்றம் செய்யவில்லை என்று எண்ணம் அவருக்கு அப்போது தான் வந்தது.

• இருப்பினும் தான் செய்யாத குற்றத்திற்கு தண்டனை கிடைத்திருக்கிறது என்றால் அதற்கு வேறு காரணம் இருக்க வேண்டும் என்று எண்ணி தனது சக்தியால் தருமராஜனை அழைத்தார்.

• தருமராஜன் தோன்றவே தனக்கு தண்டளை தரப்பட்டதற்கான காரணத்தை கேட்டார்.

• அதற்கு தருமராஜன் சிறுபிராயத்தில் எறும்புகளை துன்புறுத்தியதற்காக இந்த தண்டனை தற்போது மன்னனால் தரப்பட்டது என்று கூறினார்.

• அருகில் இருந்தவர்கள் மன்னன் வேறு எதோ தவறு செய்ததிற்காக அல்லவா தண்டனை கொடுத்தான் ஆனால் இங்கு எறும்பை துன்புறுத்தியதை பற்றி கேள்வி படவில்லையே என்று ஆச்சரியப் பட்டார்கள்.

• ரிஷி தனது சிறுபிராயத்தில் அறியாமல் செய்த தவற்றிற்கு கொடுத்த தண்டனை சரியானது இல்லை. ஆதலால், தர்ம ராஜனை நூறு ஆண்டு காலம் பூலோகத்தில் பிறந்து சுக துக்கங்களை அனுபவிக்க வேண்டும் என்று சாபமிட்டார்.

• அந்த சாபத்தினால் தான் தர்ம ராஜனே விதுரராக அவதரித்தார்.

• விதூர் சொல்லும் அனைத்து வார்த்தைகளும் தர்ம நீதிகள் ஆகும். அவர் எப்போதுமே தர்மத்தை தவிர வேறு எதையுமே கூறியதில்லை.

Vidura Neethi (Facts) - 1 

•  The Mahabharata is considered to be the fifth of the four Vedas, one of the rarest treasures we have found.
  There are a quarter of a lakh slokas in the Mahabharata alone. In the eighteenth chapters in all, the fifth chapter of service has been attributed to Vidura's Justices were explained to Dhritarashtra.
  Sanjaya goes to meet Dhritarashtra in the morning after the mission to the Lord and go and to tell the details.
  Dhritarashtra suffers so much that he thinks he will have to divide his kingdom to the Pandavas.
  So without falling asleep, he puts the cap on in his mouth and orders Vidura to come. 
  Vidura justice is to preach to Dhritarashtra who suffers from insomnia.
  Many of the most subtle things in Vidura 's mind justice have been said as vidura neethi ( Justice).  No matter how hard a man may be, if he asks for justice with confidence, the anxiety will surely go away.

WHO IS VIDURA:-

• Before beginning the Vidura Neethi (justice) we will see who the Vithura is and why he appeared on earth.
  In earlier times there was a Rishi named AANI MANDAVYAR.  He used to catch and harass ant.  Then he did a number of yogas and engaged in deep meditation.

• One day he was charged with some crime and taken to the king.
  The king questioned him.  But Rishi was meditating without saying anything because he was in meditating.

• The king sentenced him to be washed.  He was sentenced to death.  He was charged with felony criminal mischief for questioning in the neighborhood.
   It was then that the thought came to him that he had not committed that crime.

• However, he summoned Yama Dharmaraj by his power, thinking that if he had been convicted of a crime he had not committed, there must have been another reason for it.

• As soon as Yama Dharmaraj appeared, he asked the reason for giving him the spine.

• To which Yama Dharmaraj  said that the punishment for harassing ants at a young age was now given by the king.

• Nearby people wondered if the king had punished them for something else wrong but there was no question of persecuting the ant here.

• The punishment given to Rishi for the mistake he made unknowingly in his childhood was not correct.  Therefore, Dharmaraj cursed Yamadharma Rajan to be born on the planet for a hundred years and experience the pleasures and sorrows.

•  It was because of that curse that Dharma Rajane emerged as a widower.
   All the words that Vidur says are Dharma Niyathi (justice).  He never said anything other than Dharma.
