விதுர நீதி கூறும் வாழ்க்கையின் தத்துவம் - தெரிந்து கொள்ளவேண்டிய ஐந்து

திருதாஷ்டிரனுக்கு பாண்டவர்கள் சொத்தை பிரித்துக் கொடுப்பதில் இம்மி அளவும் பிரியம் இல்லை. எனவே உறக்கம் வராமல் தவிக்கிறான். அவனுக்கு விதுரர் கூறும் உபதேசமே விதுர நீதி ஆகும். மேற்கொண்டு ஐந்து ஐந்தாக அடுத்த நீதிகளை கீழ் வருமாறு கூறுகிறார்.

1. இந்த ஐந்தும் போற்றப்படவேண்டியது/ போற்றவேண்டியவர்கள்

மாத, பிதா, அக்னி (எந்த காரியம் செய்தலும் அக்னி முன்பே நாம் செய்வோம். அந்த  அக்னி நம்மை எங்கும் எப்போதும் நல்ல பாதைக்கு அழைத்துச் செல்லும்), ஆத்மா என்கின்ற நான் மற்றும் நமக்கு ஞானம் ஊட்டிய குரு

2. இந்த ஐந்து பேரும் பூஜிக்கப்  பட வேண்டியவர்கள்.

தேவர்கள் அல்லது தெய்வங்கள் (இவர்களை நாம் வணங்கிக் கொண்டே இருக்க வேண்டும்.)
பித்ரு (சிரார்த்தம், திதி முதலியவற்றை விடாமல் செய்து கொண்டே இருக்க வேண்டும்.)
சக மனிதர்கள் (இவர்களுக்கு தேவையான உதவி செய்து கொண்டே இருக்க வேண்டும்)
சந்நியாசி (வணங்கி அவர்களுக்கு தேவையானதை கொடுக்க வேண்டும்)
விருந்தினர் (இவர்கள் நமது வீட்டிற்கு வந்தால் வெறும் வயிற்றோடு திரும்பக் கூடாது)

3. இந்த ஐந்து பேரும் நம்மால் நிழல் போல தொடர்ந்து வந்து கொண்டே இருப்பார்கள்

நண்பன், எதிரி, நண்பனாகவும் எதிரியாகவும்  இல்லாத பொதுவானவன்,  நம்மை வாழ்விக்கப் போகிறவர், நம்மால் வாழப் போகிறவர். (இந்த ஐவரும் நம்மை சுற்றிக் கொண்டே இருப்பார்கள். நாம் தான் அவர்களைப் பற்றி புரிந்து கொள்ள வேண்டும்).

4. அடக்கி வைத்திருக்க வேண்டிய ஐந்து இந்திரியங்கள் (புலன்கள்)

எப்படி பாத்திரத்தில் உள்ள தண்ணீர் ஒரு சிறு ஓட்டை இருந்தாலும் வெளியே சென்று விடுமோ அது போல ஒரு புலன் கட்டுப் பட்டுபட்டை இழந்தாலும் மற்ற புலன்கள் கட்டுக்கு அடங்காமல் போய் விடும்.

இவ்வாறு நாம் அறிந்து கொள்ளவேண்டியவற்றை ஐந்து ஐந்தாக கூறுகிறார். 
அடுத்து விதுரர் திருதராஷ்டிரனுக்கு உபதேசித்ததை அடுத்த அத்தியாயத்தில் பார்ப்போம்.

The Pandavas did not like to divide the property of Thirudashtran.  So he suffers from insomnia.  Vidur justice is the advice that Vidura gives to him.  He further says that the next five justices come under five.

1. All these five are to be praised / admired

Mother, Father, Agni (We will do anything before Agni. That Agni will always lead us to the path of goodness everywhere), the Athma and the Guru who enlightened us

2. These five are to be worshiped.

Gods or goddesses (we must continue to worship them).

Pitru (Keep doing Shirdi, Didi etc.)

Fellow human beings (should keep helping them as needed)

Sannyasi (worship and give them what they need)

Guest (do not return empty-handed if they come to our house)

3. These five will continue to come as a shadow to us

Friend, enemy, commoner who is not friend and foe, who is going to live us, who is going to live by us.  (These five will continue to surround us. We just need to understand about them).

4. The five senses (senses) to be suppressed

Just like how the water in the vessel will go out even if there is a small hole, the other senses will go out of control even if one sensor loses its grip.

Thus he says five by five what we need to know.
